Age Limit

In order for a runner to be eligible to participate in the 5km Road Race, he/she needs to be at least 12 years old (born in 2006 or older).

Event's Registration Centre: to be announced soon

The Registration Centre, from where all REGISTERED runners need to collect their race bib (with embedded timing chip) and kit bag, is hosted in a venue that will be announced soon, and it will be open for the public the following days and hours:

Thursday 15 March 2018: 13.00 – 20.00
Friday 16 & Saturday 17 2018: 10.00 – 20.00

Course Description

Start LIne: The 5km Road Race starts from Syntagma Square (Othonos Str).

Course: The 5km Road Race follows: Filellinon Str – Amalias Avenue – Vas. Olgas Avenue – Vas. Konstantinou Avenue – Vas. Konstantinou/Vas. Sofias Avenue Junction in front of the Hilton Hotel – Vas. Sofias Avenue (from Syntagma Square up to Hilton Hotel) – Akadimias Avenue – Charilaou Trikoupi Str – Panepistimiou Avenue – Amalias Avenue – Finish at Syntagma Square, in front of the Greek Parliament

Finish: Runners finish on Amalias Avenue, Syntagma Square (in front of the Greek Parliament).

Kilometre index is available at every kilometre along the course.

Time Limit

The time limit for any runner to complet the 5km Road Race is set at 1 hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes). All runners should have finished by 13.00 the latest.


Medical Certificate

All runners participate in the event ON THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. The Organizing Committee bears no responsibility for any issue related to the participants’ health due to the lack of complete pre-race medical check. It is recommended that all participants have recently gone through a full range medical exam before the event. Those that are already diagnosed with any kind of heart problems or have any indication of such, should take extra notice of this and pay extra attention before registering in the event. It is recommended that all runners, regardless age, are gone through a detailed cardio check before participating in the event.The Organizing Committee will not request any written medical certification given that all runners participate in the event on exclusively their own responsibility.


Feed Zone

A feed zone is available on the 5km Road Race course. Bottled water is offered to the runners at the Start, the Finish and the available feed zone.


Awards

Distinction medals and diplomas are awarded only to the first three winners of the Race, both Men and Women. All participating runners to finish the race receive a finishers’ medal, and they are able to download their personalized participation certificate after the announcement of the Official Race Results.
