Information on Timing Services for those participating in the Half Marathon, as well as the 5km and 3km Road Races

An official timing company has undertaken the Timing of the Athens Half Marathon event. The same company is also responsible to issue the Official Results of the event after its conclusion.

In order to have your name registered in the Official Results of the event and be informed about your finish and split times during the race, all runners need to:

- Bear the timing chip to be given by the Organizing Committee, following the instructions of the organizers, throughout the race – Please note that the timing chip is attached on the back side of the runner’s bib number.

- Cross all timing mats at the start, the finish and the split timing control zones (if any).

All runners will receive their timing chip along with their bib number from the Registration Centre of the event (see Registration Centre menu). Please note that the timing chip is attached on the back side of your bib number.

YOUR TIME WILL NOT BE REGISTERED WITHOUT USE OF THE TIMING CHIP ON THE BACK SIDE OF YOUR BIB NUMBER!

Total Finish and Net Time

a) Total Finish Time

Your Total Finish Time is your Official Time! The Total Finish Time starts counting from the moment of the starting gun shot and stops as soon as you cross the finish line (both mats). Your Total Finish Time will be recorded on your Participation Certificate.

b) Net Time

The Net Time starts counting from the moment you cross both mats at the starting line and stops as soon as you cross both mats at the finish. Your Net Time will also be recorded on your Participation Certificate along with your Total Finish Time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The use of Timing Chips allows the recording of net finish time for all runners. Therefore, there is absolutely no need to create any kind of conjunction at the start line. Timing Chips allow also the recording of split times at the specified timing control zones per race.
