New Date for the 2020 Athens Half Marathon due to anti-Covid 19 measues - To be held on 20 September 2020

Details and this year's Race Manual of the 2020 Athens Half Marathon will be announced at a later stage.

Age Limit

In order for a runner to be eligible to participate in the 3km Road Race, he/she needs to be at least 10 years old (born in 2010 or older).

Event's Registration Centre: HELEXPO MAROUSSI (39 Kifissias Avenue, 151 23 Maroussi)

The Registration Centre, from where all REGISTERED runners need to collect their race bib (with embedded timing chip) and kit bag, is hosted in the Exhibition Centre HELEXPO MAROUSSI, and it will be open for the public the following days and hours:

Thursday 19 March 2020: 13.00 – 20.00
Friday 20 & Saturday 21 2020: 10.00 – 20.00

Course Description

Start Line: The 3km Road Race starts from Vas Sofias Avenue (Neofytou Douka Str, Kolonaki district), close to LAED.

Course: The 3km Road Race follows: Vas. Sofias Avenue – Akadimias Avenue – Chalkokondyli Str – Patision Avenue – Panepistimiou Avenue – Amalias Avenue – Finish at Syntagma Square, in front of the Greek Parliament)

Finish: Runners finish on Amalias Avenue, Syntagma Square (in front of the Greek Parliament), coming from Panepistimiou Avenue.

Medical Certificate

All runners participate in the event ON THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. The Organizing Committee bears no responsibility for any issue related to the participants’ health due to the lack of complete pre-race medical check. It is recommended that all participants have recently gone through a full range medical exam before the event. Those that are already diagnosed with any kind of heart problems or have any indication of such, should take extra notice of this and pay extra attention before registering in the event. It is recommended that all runners, regardless age, are gone through a detailed cardio check before participating in the event.The Organizing Committee will not request any written medical certification given that all runners participate in the event on exclusively their own responsibility.


Feed Zones

Bottled water is offered to the participants at the Start and the Finish of the Race.


Awards

Distinction medals and diplomas are awarded only to the first three winners of the Race, both Men and Women. All participating runners to finish the race receive a finishers’ medal, and they are able to download their personalized participation certificate after the announcement of the Official Race Results.
