The ATHENS HALF MARATHON has launched since 2015 a Charity and Social Liability Program, that follows the steps and successful practices of Athens Marathon, the Authentic. The Charity Organizations that are part of the Athens Half Marathon Charity Program do actively participate in the entire Athens Half Marathon event, sensitizing the Greek and international community on their objectives and goals, using it as an awareness tool and a donations platform.

The 2019 Athens Half Marathon Charity Program concerns the following organizations:


WWF Greece is the independent national office of the WWF global network, with 27 years of conservation presence in Greece. During these years, WWF Greece has implemented more than 300 conservation actions focusing on the unique Greek nature. Its mission is to preserve the unique biodiversity of Greece as an integral part of the Mediterranean Sea, reduce the negative impacts of human activity – ecological footprint - and build a future in which people live in harmony with nature.

Doctors of the World / Medecins du Monde - Greece, founded in 1990, is a medical humanitarian non-governmental organization and is a member of Medecins Du Monde international network which consists of 16 delegations worldwide. Since the beginning of its operations, it has been implementing several projects in Greece and abroad in order to provide medical, psychosocial and other services to marginalized populations that cannot access medical care. MDM is aiming to ensure access to healthcare for all and promote health as a universal human right.

Lara Guide Dog School Hellas is a non-governmental/non-profit organization that promotes and enhances independence to blind and visually impaired people through the use of a guide dog. Lara Guide-Dog School was established in July 2008 by a group of young people who dreamed of improving the life and mobility of the blind and visually impaired persons, while introducing the Guide-Dog movement in Greece. The school serves equality, autonomous living, and access to society for all people as well as promoting love and respect for animals.The School is mainly operated by volunteers and is supported by donations and sponsors.
